About
The Mechatronic Engineering with Honours program at the University of Nottingham Malaysia is a four-year programme that combines mechanical, electrical, electronic, and computer engineering to develop intelligent systems. With strong emphasis on automation, robotics, and control, students gain hands-on experience through group and individual projects. Accredited by the IET and EAC Malaysia, the degree supports the path toward Chartered Engineer status. Students benefit from cutting-edge facilities and instruction in AI, signal processing, and robotics. Entry Requirements
A Level: BBC including Mathematics and Physics (Critical Thinking and General Studies are not accepted).
IB Diploma: 26 points overall with 5, 4 at Higher Level, including:
Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches (HL)
Physics (HL)
STPM: BBC+, including Mathematics and Physics (excluding Pengajian Am).
UEC: 5 B3s including Mathematics and Physics (excluding Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese Language).
Australian Year 12: ATAR 82
Mathematics and Physics must meet A Level subject equivalency.
For WACE: Mathematics Methods and Mathematics Specialist required.
For SACE: Mathematical Methods and Specialist Mathematics required.
Other states/territories: Mathematics subjects reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD): 77% average across 6 subjects, including:
Advanced Functions
Calculus and Vectors
Physics
Minimum of 75% for C grade equivalency and 81% for B grade equivalency.
Chinese Gaokao and Senior High School Diploma:
Gaokao: Minimum 70% average, including at least:
75% in Mathematics
73% in Physics
Senior High School Diploma: Minimum 70% overall, with at least 70% in Mathematics and Physics.
Indian CBSE/CISCE (Class XII):
78% average from the best four subjects.
80% in Mathematics and 70% in Physics.
Note: CBSE Applied Mathematics is not accepted.
Advanced Placement (AP): Scores of 4, 4, 3, including:
AP Calculus
AP Physics
Diploma (Local Institutions):
Entry to Year 2 assessed case-by-case.
Typically requires a GPA of 3.20/4.0 or higher.
Good grades in Mathematics and Physics are essential.
Foundation (Local Institutions):
Minimum GPA of 3.20/4.0 and strong performance in Mathematics and Physics.
Subject to School discretion.
University of Nottingham Foundation Programme:
Successful completion with a minimum score of 45% in all Mathematics and Physics modules.

IELTS One Skill Retake is accepted.
Online formats (IELTS Academic Online, TOEFL iBT Home Edition, PTE Academic Online) are not accepted.
IELTS, TOEFL, and PTE results must be less than two years old.
MUET results are valid for five years from the release date.
