Overview The Bachelor of Optometry (Honours) programme prepares students for a career in primary eye and vision care through a strong foundation in vision science, ocular health and clinical optometric practice. Students develop the knowledge andprofessional skills needed to assess visual function and eye health, support the management of appropriate conditions, and provide patient-centred care within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment. Graduates may pursue opportunities in private practice, optical retail, healthcare settings, community eye-care services and the ophthalmic industry. Upon successful completion of the programme, Malaysian graduates may apply to register with the Malaysian Optical Council, subject to applicable requirements.

Overview This is a specialised programme designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to become proficient opticians. The course covers the technical aspects of vision care – including fitting, dispensing and adjustment of ophthalmic glasses. Students are also introduced to the fundamentals of ocular health, eye anatomy and optical instruments, as well as the ethical and professional standards within the field. In addition to technical training, the programme also emphasises essential communication skills, customer care and business management. This prepares graduates to work in retail optical stores, eye care clinics or even run their own optical practices. It also provides opportunities for further advancement to a degree in optometry.

Overview This medical programme stands out for its graduates who excel in their medical knowledge, skills and leadership. With a focus on five key areas – basic medical services; clinical and therapeutic methods, procedures, and investigations; community and family medicine; communication skills; and professional competence – the curriculum is designed to produce highly skilled doctors capable of meeting future medical challenges and advancing healthcare. From Year 1, students will be based at Bandar Springhill campus where the UCSI Hospital is also at. Students will have the opportunity to perform medical procedures instead of merely observing. This early exposure to patient interaction will subsequently ensure a smoother transition from university student to a medical doctor.

Overview The Graduate Certificate in Aesthetic Assistant with Wellness combines the two fields of aesthetic assistantship and wellness into one programme designed to equip graduates with the necessary knowledge and skills to pursue careers in the aesthetics and wellness industries. This programme promotes evidence-based practices in aesthetics and provides exposure to recent advances in wellness. Graduates will receive training in aesthetic assistantship skills and entrepreneurship in both fields. Collaborations with Aesthetic clinics and wellness centres keep the programme up-to-date, equipping our graduates with the skills and knowledge to accelerate growth in their career paths.

Overview This six-month, full-time course is designed to develop advanced skills and knowledge in perioperative nursing. It prepares registered nurses with essential competencies in pre-operative patient care, intra-operative management and post operative care for surgical condition. Graduates of this course will be equipped to assist with surgical procedures and provide high-quality perioperative nursing care in line with industry standards. This curriculum provides an overview of the perioperative nursing component within the nursing education programme accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency and the Ministry of Nursing Board, Malaysia.

Overview The Post-Basic Critical Care programme prepares you for high-pressure critical care environments. It equips you with the skills and know-how to make the crucial interventions that save lives. The curriculum focuses on critical thinking, evidence-based practices and patient-centred care. Graduates will be skilled in delivering effective critical care aligned with industry standards. This programme is designed to meet the requirements set by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and the Ministry of Nursing Board Malaysia. Students will learn to manage single and multi-organ system dysfunctions, restore physiological and psychological stability and make quick, informed decisions in critical situations.
